Σύμφωνα με τον Νόμο 4545/1966, όσοι παράγουν δισκογραφικό έργο (δίσκοι βινυλίου, δίσκοι πυκνής εγγραφής – CD, DVD) υποχρεούνται να καταθέτουν στην Εθνική Δισκοθήκη – η οποία αποτελεί Κρατικό Αρχείο – κάθε δίσκο σε δύο αντίτυπα.
