     Το 1966 συγκροτήθηκε στο Κέντρο δια νόμου (4545) η Εθνική Δισκοθήκη, στην οποία κατατίθενται από τις δισκογραφικές εταιρείες δίσκοι δημοτικής και λαϊκής μουσικής. Σήμερα η δισκοθήκη διαθέτει 13.000 περίπου δίσκους βινυλίου εις διπλούν και μεγάλο αριθμό δίσκων πυκνής εγγραφής (CD) και εμπλουτίζεται συνεχώς με νέο υλικό από τις εταιρείες παραγωγής και ιδιώτες.
