Κυκλοφορήθηκαν τα πρακτικά του συνεδρίου. Δημοσιεύματα του Κέντρου Λαογραφίας, αριθμ. 18.

    Στις 10 και 11 Νοεμβρίου του 2000 πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Μέγαρο της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών «Μουσικολογική Σύναξις», με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση δύο χρόνων από την εκδημία του αείμνηστου μουσικοδιδασκάλου Σπυρίδωνος Δ. Περιστέρη (1913-1998). Την πρωτοβουλία της διοργανώσεως είχε το Κέντρον Ερεύνης Ελληνικής Λαογραφίας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών, σε συνεργασία με την Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Αθηνών. Η εκδήλωση ολοκληρώθηκε την Κυριακή 12 Νοεμβρίου στον Καθεδρικό Ναό Αθηνών, όπου τελέστηκε Θεία Λειτουργία μετά μνημοσύνου στη μνήμη του τιμωμένου προσώπου.

     Η Σύναξις αυτή με αφορμή την απόδοση τιμής στην προσωπικότητα του Περιστέρη λειτούργησε ως έμπνευση για την προώθηση της παράλληλης και, ει δυνατόν, συγκριτικής έρευνας των δύο κλάδων της ελληνικής μουσικής παράδοσης –της βυζαντινής μουσικής και του δημοτικού τραγουδιού–, τους οποίους ο ίδιος υπηρέτησε πιστά σε όλη τη ζωή του. Εκδόθηκαν τα Πρακτικά του Συνεδρίου σε καλαίσθητο τόμο (Αθήνα 2002), ο οποίος παρουσιάστηκε στην Ανατ. Αίθουσα του μεγάρου της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών από τον  Σεβασμ. Μητροπολίτη Περγάμου κ. Ιωάννη Ζηζιούλα, Ακαδημαϊκό, τον Υπουργό Εσωτερικών κ. Κώστα Σκανδαλίδη και τον εθνομουσικολόγο κ. Λάμπρο Λιάβα, Αναπλ. Καθηγητή του Παν/μίου Αθηνών.
