    Πραγματοποιήθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία η επιστημονική συνάντηση με θέμα «Η φωτιά πηγή ζωής, δύναμης και καθαρμού», που οργάνωσαν το Μουσείο Ελληνικής Λαϊκής Τέχνης και οι «Φίλοι» του στις 1-3 Απριλίου 2011, στην Αίθουσα της Παλαιάς Βουλής, στο Εθνικό Ιστορικό Μουσείο. Η Διευθύντρια και οι Ερευνητές του Κέντρου Λαογραφίας (εν ενεργεία και παλαιότεροι) συμμετείχαν με έντεκα συνολικά ανακοινώσεις. Τα συμπεράσματα της συνάντησης έγιναν από την Διευθύντρια του Κέντρου, πρόεδρο της τελευταίας συνεδρίας κ. Αικ. Πολυμέρου–Καμηλάκη. Τις εργασίες του συνεδρίου έκλεισε η Διευθύντρια του Μ.Ε.Λ.Τ. κ. Μαρία Αυγούλη.

 

    Μετά την επιτυχημένη διοργάνωση των τριών προηγούμενων επιστημονικών συναντήσεων με θέμα το νερό (1997), τον αέρα (2000) και τη γη (2004), η 4η αυτή συνάντηση ολοκλήρωσε έναν κύκλο μελέτης και διαλόγου, στο πλαίσιο του οποίου τα τέσσερα –σύμφωνα με τους προσωκρατικούς φιλοσόφους–  κοσμογονικά στοιχεία της φύσης εξετάζονται σε σχέση με τον νεώτερο ελληνικό πολιτισμό.
