Απεβίωσε πλήρης ημερών στις 21 Μαρτίου 2022 ο διαπρεπής Ελληνοαμερικανός καθηγητής Εθνομουσικολόγος του Πανεπιστημίου Binghamton Σωτήριος Τσιάνης. O Σαμ υπήρξε συνεργάτης και φίλος, επί 6 και πλέον δεκαετίες, διαδοχικών γενεών ερευνητών του Κέντρου Λαογραφίας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών και πρωτοπόρος στον τομέα των μουσικών καταγραφών και την μελέτη δημοτικών τραγουδιών από το 1958-1959. Το Κέντρο Λαογραφίας έχει δημοσιεύσει βιβλία του με μουσικές καταγραφές δημοτικών ασμάτων για την Σκύρο, το Βαλτέτσι, την Βυτίνα. Αναφορές στο έργο του συμπεριλαμβάνονται σε πολλές εκδόσεις της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών. Αιωνία σου η μνήμη σεβαστέ δάσκαλε και αγαπητέ φίλε!
